Why JDC Summit 2.0?

Imagine & Ignite our Future! What do you see as issues, needs and priorities for Jewish Deaf people? How can Jewish Deaf Identities and Communities be strengthened? Come and meet people like yourself in this educational, enlightening and entertaining event in this safe space.

What?

This event provides you with full access to the summit program. Included in the registration: a Friday Shabbat service, keynote presentations followed by round table discussions, panel discussions, evening social and campfire celebrations, Jewish Deaf art displays, JDC board election, 6 kosher meals and snacks, and 2 nights room in a rustic retreat site.

Schedule: There will be sessions and roundtable discussions led by different presenters and facilitators. There will be breaks between sessions. 

Youth Engagement Track: Ages 18 – 40 years old – Some activities will be shared with participants across a range of ages, while other activities will be youth-focused

Shabbat Services: Friday evening, Shabbat morning, and Havdalah ceremony 

Meals: Six Kosher meals, water, and snacks will be provided during the summit.

Accommodations

Single or double occupancy at the lodge for adults and dormitory for college students. 

The summit is for Jewish Deaf people who use American Sign Language.  Thus, the summit program will be conducted in ASL, and no voice ASL interpreters will be provided. For close-vision and/or tactile ASL interpreting services, please request at least 3 weeks in advance on your registration form.

Transportation: By car or plane, on your own. The nearest airport is BWI in Baltimore, Maryland. Transportation services are available from the airport, about 45 minutes by car.  Carpool is encouraged.
