Acknowledgment and Assumption of Risk
By participating in the JDC Summit (“Event”), I acknowledge that I am voluntarily choosing to attend and participate in all activities associated with this event. I understand that participation may involve certain risks, including but not limited to physical injury, illness (including communicable diseases), property loss, travel-related risks, and other unforeseen hazards.
I acknowledge that some event activities may include the consumption of alcoholic beverages. I understand and agree that:
- I must be at least 21 years old to consume alcohol.
- I will drink responsibly and comply with all applicable laws.
- I accept full responsibility for my behavior and any consequences that may result from the consumption of alcohol.
COVID-19
If you feel unwell, please do not come. Most activities will be indoors, and a few will be outdoors. Wearing a mask indoors is optional. We will have hand sanitizers available. JDC and Pearlstone are very aware and very careful about COVID. I understand that updated protocols may be communicated before my arrival on the Pearlstone campus. I agree to waive JDC from any liabilities due to COVID or related.
Prohibited Items and Other Policies
Pearlstone Center is an educational, community-building setting. The safety and well-being of guests is the top priority. I understand that illegal substances, firearms, and other weapons are strictly forbidden on the Pearlstone campus. Smoking is permitted only outdoors in designated areas. Only certified service pets are permitted. I agree to abide by all rules and policies related to safety and well-being.
Release of Liability
In consideration for being allowed to participate in this Event, I, for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, hereby release, waive, discharge, and hold harmless the Jewish Deaf Congress (JDC), its officers, directors, employees, volunteers, contractors, affiliates, and representatives from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, or causes of action arising out of or related to any
loss, damage, injury, or illness, including death, that may occur while participating in or traveling to or from the Event.
This release includes but is not limited to:
- Injuries or damages resulting from Event activities;
- Consumption of food or beverages, including alcohol;
- Transportation or travel to, during, or from the Event;
- Acts or omissions of other participants, attendees, or third parties.
Indemnification
I agree to indemnify and hold harmless JDC and its representatives from any loss, liability, damage, or costs (including attorney’s fees) they may incur due to my participation or actions during the Event.
Medical Authorization
In the event of an emergency, I consent to receive medical treatment deemed necessary by qualified personnel. I understand that I am solely responsible for any medical or emergency expenses incurred.
Media Waiver
Photographs and videos taken throughout the program may be used for record-keeping and promotional purposes. I understand that photos and/or videos of everyone in the summit may be taken. In agreeing to these terms, I agree to allow photos and videos taken of everyone on this registration to be published in print, online, and in other media, and such materials are the property of JDC.
Room Keys
Pearlstone charges a $50 fee for a lost key. I agree to return my room key upon check-out by 12 noon on Sunday, or pay the $50 fee.
Cancellation Policy
Jewish Deaf Congress has taken on the challenges of planning this groundbreaking Summit and is committed to providing you with an exemplary event experience. Since JDC has paid for the Summit reservations, JDC cannot accommodate refunds. I understand my registration fee is non-refundable.
