These resources include the following: -Non-Profit Tax-Exempt Status: Jewish Deaf Local Community (JDLC) event organizers may use JDC Non-Profit Status to host their events with a MOU approved by JDC Program Director and one JDC Board executive officer. -Financial Support: JDLC may use JDC’s Jewish Deaf Local Community (JDLC) bank account and financial transactions which includes: --Event ticketing, using the Zeffy ticketing system --Event items purchase with a limit amount set by the debit card authorized by the JDC Treasurer. -- A maximum of $1,000 can be used as a loan for event expenses, with written approval given by the JDC Program Director and JDC Treasurer. Roles and Responsibilities: The following roles and responsibilities are agreed to as outlined below. Your local community director and treasurer will be responsible for: -Providing information to JDC via form submission a minimum of six weeks in advance where possible: --Date(s), time(s) and location of event. --Both event chair and treasurer contact information (for access to bank account). -Financial record-keeping including: --original receipts of expenses, banking transactions and ticketing sales. --Event financial report within 30 days after event completion with name of event, date, location, number of people in attendance, & detailed profit and loss. This report should be reviewed by two auditors of your choice and signed/approved by them. Finally, the event chair and treasurer should sign the report. -Using the JDC debit card prudently and within the limits set. --Communicate in advance with the JDC Treasurer & Program Director regarding purchases or deposits over $500. -Coordinating social media marketing efforts with the JDC Program Director as appropriate. -Donating a minimum of 10% of profits to JDC for services such as staffing, marketing, website maintenance, and so forth. - Promoting JDC (name and/or logo) both via marketing and at the event to encourage the public to make donations towards the International Jewish Deaf Festival and/or future Jewish Deaf Local Community Events. JDC will be responsible for: -Maintaining our non-profit status. -Using discretion to monitor the usage of JDC's tax-exempt status. -Providing a guide to events & reviewing event program and budget plan. -Providing a Zeffy account for ticketing and one debit card for event purchases with a purchase limit. -Promoting the event on JDC's website, eNews, and social media platforms. The MOU shall commence on this date and continue until for a period of six months, unless terminated earlier. The MOU may be terminated by JDC should there be concerns regarding unethical conduct, fraud, embezzlement, or other practices that violate applicable federal, state, and local laws regarding business practices. Access to JDC’s JDLC account will be terminated immediately. The MOU may be terminated by either party upon 30 days written notice to the other party. This MOU constitutes the entire agreement between the parties with respect to the subject matter hereof and supersedes all prior or contemporaneous email communications and proposals, whether verbalized or written. Additional changes may be made with mutual consent in writing. Neither party will be held liable for programmatic or fiscal issues.
