Community Building

Shalom! My name is Philip Rubin. My name sign is ‘p’ on chin. I’m a (board) member of Jewish Deaf Congress (JDC) and a community building outreach contact personI can help guide each local community through the process of what to doThe purpose of community building is to encourage local communities to grow, uplift, and become active with the enjoyment and fun. To bring fun to local communities, JDC provides support and resources. We’ve set up online community building guidelines which you could look up and check during your progress, which it’ll make it easier for all local communities.

The Jewish Deaf Congress (JDC) is a national, inclusive, and accessible organization rooted in Tikkun Olam—repairing the world through action and community. Our Community Building Initiative supports local Jewish Deaf communities with fiscal and marketing resources to help events thrive.

To partner with JDC, appoint an event chairperson and treasurer—both must register as members (free or paid). Paid memberships sustain this initiative and other opportunities for the Jewish Deaf community.

Once registered, you can apply for support. After approval, you’ll gain access to resources, documents, and MOU forms. Questions? Contact us anytime.

JDC has been an incredible partner in supporting the Southern California community. With their support, we were able to host events that brought people together, strengthened connections, and celebrated our shared identity. Thanks to their support, our gatherings were not only successful but also uplifting for everyone involved.
